Resources in our environment are limited . But the wants and needs of humans are increasing day by day . Due to these increasing needs they are consuming more and more resources which is why some resources are getting depleted while some are getting scarce . Resource planning is important for judicious use of resources so that there's enough for everybody's need not greed . Many resources like petroleum, coal , minerals and fossils fuels are non renewable and take thousands of years to replenish . So in order to prevent a situation when there will be no resources left for us to use , we need to implement resource planning .
