A constitution is a set of fundamental principles or established ..... States that have codified constitutions normally give the constitution supremacy over ordinary statute law.

Without a constitution a nation cannot live in peace and harmony.  The constitution specifies the the way the country is ruled, the organs that will handle power and they way people can exercise their rights and the responsibilities.

Without a written constitution, the future generations of people will not know how to manage the country.  There will be conflicts among parties, groups and people.

With a constitution people know their roles and responsibilities.  So each person does what is expected of him/her.  People can check if the rules are following the constitution and not exploiting them.
