Negative impacts of green revolution :-

• Loss of Biodiversity --

Most of the regions were growing indegenous variety of crops, but due to the new technology they became dependent on genetically engineered variety of seeds.This has a disasterous impact on the local system.

• Depletion of ground water resources --

Inorder to make the new technology successful.it was very important to have proper irrigation facilities.But this led to unregulated and indiscriminate use of ground water by the private sectors.
