✏ It is now preserved in Chile's National museum of National history. It was discovered in 2011.

✏ It is more than 11 inches × 7 inches in size and looks like an deflated football. It is believed that, it is the largest soft shelled egg ever discovered.

✏ Paleontologist believed that it is about 66 million years old and remained during the dinosaur extinction due to the asteroid that hit the earth.

✏ They also believed that the egg is somewhat similar to the eggs of reptiles, turtles because their eggs are soft shelled. It was found to be laid by a giant marine reptile, known as monosaur.

✏ The egg had no embryonic remains and mother animal's skeleton was also not found, hence it was difficult for them, to identify the correct laying animal. But, it should be a monosaur(marine lizard).

☄ The scientists were bewildered about it and hence named it as, "The Thing" after the name of a Science-fiction movie.
