Hello mate.
Thanks for asking this question.
Your answer is =>
is the accessory part of flower which is the reproductive part of plant.
Calyx has only one component and that is .
The sepal is the part of flower which is modified to perform different types of vital functions of plants.
Sepal or Calyx is the outermost whorl of flower.
The sepals are the basal structures of flower which are green in colour.
Hence , due to green colour , it is clear that , the calyx i.e. sepal performs two functions that are :=
1) :-
sepals being green in colour contains chlorophyll and hence can perform photosynthesis to assimilate the energy i.e. GLUCOSE.
2) :-
Sepals being wider in shape and size and comparitively much tough the flower when it is in Budding stage.
