there are 3 ranges in himalayas. they are as follows:-
1. Upper himalayas - HIMADRI RANGE (northern most range of himalayas)
2. Middle himalayas- HIMACHAL RANGE
3. Lower himalayas- SHIWALIK RANGE

these are 3 parallel ranges
