what is the number of solutions of the following pair of linear equations. x+2y-8=0. 2x+4y=16​

if you look carefully you can see that equation 2 is actually just equation 1 multiplied by 2.

so actually there is only one eqaution that we have and there are infinite solutions for any linear equation in two variables without another such independent equation.

so infinite is the answer.
