What is the numerical value of the specific heat of a gas in an (a) isothermal
process and (b) adiabatic process? Give reason for your answer.

WhiteShadow13: What type of gas, mono,do,poly? I guess it's 4R for the first case =>4X8.3=33.2

Specific Heat Formula is S=Q/mdT
1. For isothermal process temperature remains constant, dT would be 0
S= Q/0= Infinity
2. For adiabatic process There will be no transfer of heat or matter therefore y first law of thermodynamics dQ=dU+dW
dQ=0 for adiabatic..
therefore S= 0
