The answer given below is with reference to the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council (NMCC).

The NMCC was set up in 2004 by the then government of India, to provide a platform for dialogue on policies of manufacturing industries and to promote and motivate the industry. It was an autonomous organisation with a Chairman in the rank of Union Minister and members consisting of qualified government servants and industry specialists.

Post 2014, it became non-functional and hence was wound up in 2016, by the government. Besides, it had achieved its purpose for which it was set up, by then.
