Haritha Haram program, conceived by the Telangana State CM Shri K. Chandrasekar Rao is a highly prominent afforestation programme aiming at vastly expanding the State’s green cover.
The programme was envisaged in the year July 2015 with the goal of improving green cover, overcoming drought, reducing global warming, ensuring sustainable livelihoods, and preserving ecological balance.
EXPLANATION:
The opinion about the Haritha Haram is that while it is a good program it will not be regarded successful unless majority of the plants survive. The government must focus on to ensure that maximum number of the saplings planted survive and grow into trees.
Data collected in July 2017 revealed that a reasonable number of saplings planted in all districts have not survived. In addition to it, the programme will be successful when students (as they were numerous students backed by teachers involved in this programme) work as soldiers and teachers must bring awareness and enlighten students on the necessity of expanding our green environment.
