The strength of the oxo-acids of chlorine increases in the order HClO < HClO2 < HClO3 < HClO4. Perchloric acid, HClO4, is supposed to be the strongest of all known simple acids. For the oxo-acids of any non-metal, higher the oxidation number stronger will be the acid.
