Akbarabad

Previously known as Akbarabad, Agra was the capital of the Mughal Empire under the Mughal Emperors Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan. Babur, the founder of the Mughal dynasty, laid out the first formal Persian garden, Aram Bagh (or Garden of Relaxation) on the banks of the river Yamuna.
