The O.N of C in glucose is +4
syedanoor12:
NOT IN GUCOSE
We know that, O.N. of H and O are 1 and -2 respectively.
Therefore, 6x + 12(1) + 4(-2) = 0
(because C6H12O4 is neutral i.e. it has no charge on it)
6x + 12 - 8 = 0
6x + 4 = 0
6x = -4
x = -4/6 = -2/3
x = -0.66
