The most common oxidation states of chromium are +6, +3, and +2. A few stable compounds of the +5, +4, and +1 states, however, are known. In the +6 oxidation state, the most important species formed by chromium are the chromate, CrO42−, and dichromate, Cr2O72−, ions. hope you understand.....
