OXIDIZING POWER OF FLOURINE

flourine is stronger oxidizing agent than chlorine because it has low energy of
dissociation energy and higher hydration energy of its ion
flourine oxidizes Cl to Cl2 by accepting electrons from cl ion
F2 + 2Cl 》》》》》 Cl2 +2 F

Heya!
_____

_________________________________________________________

◾Fluorine ( F ) is the 9th element in the periodic table .

◾Its electronic configuration is 1s² , 2s² , 2p^5 .

⭐Oxidation power of fluorine ⭐
===========================

=> Fluorine is a Halogen . And Halogen have high oxidation potential if they fulfill the following three conditions :

✔ Low energy of Dissociation

✔ High electron affinity .

✔ High Hydration energy of the first ion .

=> Now , Fluorine fulfils all conditions except that it's electron affinity if quite less . But it has a very low value of Dissociation and also , a high value of first ion hydration .

•°• It acts as a strong oxidation agent !
