Hi buddy

Here is your answer

The ozone layer or ozone shield is a region of Earth's stratosphere that absorbs most of the Sun's ultraviolet radiation. It contains high concentration of ozone (O3) in relation to other parts of the atmosphere, although still small in relation to other gases in the stratosphere.

There is a layer in the stratosphere at a height of 20-45 km,which has a high concentration of ozone gas .This portion of the stratosphere is called ozone layer or ozonosphere.

The main characteristics of this layer are:

  • Ozone constitutes about 1% of the stratospheric air.
  • Ozone is produced by the action of solar radiation on ordinary oxygen atoms.
  • Ozone layer acts as a sheild, protecting us by absorbing most of the harmful ultra-violet rays of the sun.
