a fact can be expressed in two ways - Active and Passive.

you must remember that a verb can be transitive and intransitive. all verbs, transitive and intransitive and intransitive, can be used in their active forms. but a verb can be used in the passive form only when it is transitive.

you must also remember that a verb is transitive when the action of the doer (subject) passes on to a receiver (object).

Read the following sentence

1 Aastha respects the teacher.         2 Meeta is playing cricket.

3 the teacher praised yash.              4 Amber carried a heavy bag.

In the above sentences

subject                 action

aastha                  respects

meeta                   playing

teacher                 praised

Amber                   carried

In the above sentences, the subject of the verbs perform different action. therefore, the verbs are in active voice.

when the subject of the verb receives the action the verb is said to be in passive voice.

Example The teacher is respected by arushi

In above example - playing, crying are the action performed.
