what is the percentage deacrease, if a number reduces from 70 to 42?

Number of change= 70-42
                          = 28
Percentage of decrease= Amount of change / Original amount x 100
                                  = 28 / 70 x 100
                                  = 4 x 10
                                  =  40%

so net decrease = 70 - 42 = 28

so percentage decrease =  \frac{28}{70}*100 = 40% ANSWER
