What is the percentage dissociation if 1 mole of X2Y is introduced into 1 L vessel at 1000 K? Kc for the dissociation of X2Y = 1*10-6.

lkjlk/Partition coefficient is the value determined to know the activity of drug or it can be staeted as the distribution of drug between the organic layer which is butanol and aqueous layer which is water

Detemination of Partition coefficient is an experimental process in which a separating funnel is filled with distilled water (25 mL) along with 20 mL butanol and 5 mL acetic acid and shaken for an hour.

5 mL of aqueous layer and 5 mL organic layer titrated with NaOH along with 2 drops of phenoph thelein and titrated until colour changes to pink.

Thus, partition coefficient can be determined as follows:

P = C1 /C2

C1 is the concentration of NaOH required for aqueous layer

and C2 is concentration of NaOH for organic layer.
