Surprisingly there are two answers for this question.

Darkness

Light

Now lets see how there is both darkness aswell as light .

Now as we know their are infinite sources of light in our universe followed with the fact that their is 0.00000001% of actuall matter . So most of the universe is just vaccum

Thats the reason, there is light everywhere . Because of such huge percentage of vaccum there is very less intensity loss of travelling light .

Now lets come to second part . You might wonder if I say I have already answered this part in first part itself. What most of the people think when they hear the word light is actually visible light ,which a human can experience and see.

This can be only done when their is some matter to reflect light. Now since their is 0.00000001% of real matter you can experience light in only small part of universe .
