Concept

Perimeter is a closed path that outlines either a 2-D shape or an 1-D length.

Perimeter of a triangle is given by sum of all sides.For eg a, b, c are sides of an triangle.

P = a + b + c

Given

Triangle with angles 30,60,90

Hypotenuse = 10cm

Find

Perimeter of the triangle

Solution

In triangle ABC

BC/AC = cos 60

BC/10 = cos 60

BC = 10/2

BC = 5

Similarly in Triangle ABC

AB/AC = cos 30

AB/10 = √3/2

AB = 5√3

Perimeter of Triangle = AB + BC + AC

P = 5√3 + 5 + 10

P = 15 + 5√3

P = 5(3 + √3 )

Perimeter of the triangle is   5(3 + √3 ) cm.
