What is the perimeter of a regular pentagon whose each side measuring 5 cm
(a) 10 cm

(c) 15 cm
(d) 25 cm

As we know a regular Pentagon has 5 equal sides

Measure of each side= 5cm

so Measure of 5 sides=. (5*5)cm = 25cm

So option d) 25 cm is the right answer

Heya!!

Thanks for asking the question.

Ans : (d) 25 cm

Explanation :

Things to know before reading the solution :

What is a polygon?
- A polygon is a closed figure.
They are of two types -
1. Concave polygon
2. Convex polygon

What is a pentagon ?
- A pentagon is a five sides polygon i.e closed figure. 'Penta' means five. Sum of all interior angles of a pentagon is equal to 540°. Sum of all exterior angles of a polygon is 360°.

What does the word 'regular' signify?
- It means uniform. It means that all sides and angles of a regular polygon are equal.

So, here what is a regular pentagon?
- It is a five sides closed figure with all its five interior angles and five sides equal.

Now coming back to the question,

Given,

Measure of one side of a reqular pentagon = 5
cm

To find ,
perimeter of given regular pentagon

Since it is a regular pentagon,

So perimeter = measure of one side ×5
= (5×5)cm = 25cm. ( Ans )

Hope it helps you :)
