Permittivity is the ability of a substance to store electrical energy in an electric field.
 Its symbol is ε0
Its value is 8.85 * 10^-12

kvnmurty: units are also important to specify. epsilon 0 is for vacuum... permittivity of other media is more than that of vacuum.

Permittivity is a property of a dielectric medium that determines how well it transmits an electric field. It is determined by how much the medium polarizes in response to an electric field.

Hope this helps:)
