DIFFRACTION OF LIGHT:
When ray picture of light is invalid if the the size size of the topic object in the path of light is very small as compared to the wavelength of light. In such cases, the light bends around the corner of the topic object the phenomenon of bending light around the corners of the opaque object is known as diffraction of light.
Diffraction of light can be explained by considering the light as a wave. Later on, it was observed that light behaves as particle, when light interacts with matter. Finally, it was established that light has dual nature that is, it behaves as a web as well as stream of particles.
