here humid shadows is referred to clouds full of water and the melancholy darkness is referred to sad situation.

                                                             This terms are used by the poet to describe the atmosphere and his current mood that how his mood and weather are same as he as he was in gloomy mood and the atmosphere too became gloomy to match up his mood and the moment he felt like crying by remembering the past memories the rain starts pouring!
