3x+7y=14
x=0
Put in give equation
3×0 +7y =14
7y=14
y=14/7
y=2

put in given equation
3x=0
x=0

•°• The point of intersection is (0,2)

The point of intersection between the line and the y axis would be (0,2)

Given

  • line 3x+7y=14
  • the y axis

To find

  • point of intersection

Solution

we are provided with the line and why axis and are asked to find the point of intersection between the line and the y axis.

we know that at y axis the co-ordinate of a point would be (0,y) therefore according to the given condition of the question this point should lie on the given line that is it should satisfy the equation of the given line,

therefore, substituting the point on the equation of the line, we get,

3(0) +7y = 14

or, 7y = 14

or, y = 2

therefore, the point of intersection between the line and the y axis would be (0,2)
