Given :

A medium of refractive index 1.732 .

To Find :

The polarizing angle .

Solution :

We know , tangent of polarizing angle is equal to the refractive index .

Let , polarizing angle be \theta .

So ,

tan\ \theta=1.732\\\\\theta=tan ^{-1}\ 1.732=tan ^{-1}\ \sqrt 3\\\\\theta=60^{\circ}

Therefore , the polarizing angle of a medium of refractive index 1.732 is 60^{\circ} .
