Hello friend

Doctrine of lapse is introduced by lord dalhousie which enable him to annex vast territories.

According to this doctrine if an indian ruler of a dependent state did not have his real son to succeed him he was not allowed to adopt a successor. Heirs adopted without the consent of the company could neither inherit the throne or the title.
