Given:

  • Mass of body ,m = 20 kg
  • height ,h = 10 m

To Find:

  • Potential Energy ,PE

Solution:

As we know that the energy possess by body due to its position is called Potential Energy.

Acceleration due to gravity is 9.8m/s²

Now, Calculating the Potential Energy

❒ PE = mgh

where,

PE is Potential Energy

m is the mass

g is the acceleration due to gravity

h is the height

Substitute the value we get

→ PE = 20 × 9.8 × 10

→ PE = 200 × 9.8

→ PE = 1960 J

Therefore, the potential energy is 1960 Joules.
