Manures increase soil fertility (giving humus to the soil), water retention capacity and absorption rate of the soil. These do not pollute the environment. Fertilisers do not completely mix in the soil which pollutes the land and ultimately enters the food chain through the producers and finally to the consumers.

Answer:

They supply plant nutrients including micronutrients.

They improve soil physical properties like structure, water holding capacity etc.,

They increase the availability of nutrients.
