The preamble to the Constitution of India is a brief introductory statement that sets out guidelines, which guide the people of the nation, and to present the principles of the Constitution, and to indicate the source from which the document derives its authority, and meaning[1] The hopes and aspirations of the people are described in it. The preamble can be referred to as the preface which highlights the entire Constitution. It was adopted on 26 November 1949 by the Constituent Assembly and came into effect on 26 January 1950, celebrated as the Republic day in India.

The first page of our constitution is called the preamble. A constitution is a book of laws and regulations which are binded upon all citizens of a country. Monarchy is a form of government in which a person(monarch) has control of everything and no man can go against him , in simple words it is the opposite of democracy. Dr. B.R Ambedkar is the father of the Indian constitution as he was the President of the Constituent Assembly. We celebrate 26th January as our constitution came into force on this day in the year 1950. The constitution offers each citizen of the country which are called as Fundamental rights. The functions of the constitution are given below :

  • The constitution divides the power b/w the centre and the states of a country.
  • It also divides the government into 3 branches called the Legislature, Executive and the Judiciary.
  • It also divides the power b/w the three branches of government and  various ministers and their position.
