Basically democracy is a way of governing in which the government is made by the people and for the people.

In a democracy it is very important that elections take place and that free and fair elections take place. This is so because only in a democracy a leader is elected by the people and then he is the one to represent the country in all of its decisions.

Thats why elections are important. Because thats the only way to elect the representative for the democratic country
