What is the “Prime Meridian”?What is the other name for it and why?

The Prime Meridian is an imaginary line that, similar to the Equator, divides the earth into eastern and western hemispheres. Prime meridian means pm.the other name is greenwich meridian because it tells about afternoon and night.
