What is the 'Prime Meridians'? What is the other name for it and why?

It is the meridian in the geographical coordinate system at which longitude is defined to be 0°. It's an imaginary line that divides the earth into eastern and western hemisphere. The other name for Prime Meridians is Greenwich Meridian OR International Meridian OR International Date Line.
