Primitive or Simple Subsistence  Farming:

 Primitive farming is the oldest form of  agriculture and still prevalent in some areas of the world. This type of farming is done on self-sufficient basis and farmers grow food only for themselves and their families.

features of subsistence--

1. Primitive subsistence agriculture is practiced on small patches of land with the help of primitive tools like hoe, dao and digging sticks with the help of family/community.
2. This type of farming depends upon the monsoon, natural fertility of the soil and suitability of other environmental conditions for the crops to be grown.
3. Under this, farmers produce for self-consumption.
4. Per hectare availability of land is very low .
