Principle

it is based on the principle that when a rectangular coil is placed in a magnetic field and current is passed through it, two equal and opposite force act on the coil which rotate it continuously

MORE ABOUT ELECTRIC MOTOR

Definition

It is a rotating device for converting electric energy into mechanical energy

Construction

It consists of rectangular coil , say ABCD ,Which is placed between two magnet of opposite pole the end of a coil are connected with two halves known as split rings ,their is rod placed between split rings is know as axle , two metallic Brushes touch the split ring which are connected with terminal of battery

Working

When current flows in the direction of ABCD then applying left hand rule we found that AB move downward and DC move upward and the coli complete half rotation in anti clock direction now the direction of current changes to DCBA and again applying left hand rule we found that DC move downward and AB move upward and it complete the Rotation

Use

It is use in Fan DVD , Domestic Motor
