The metal detector is based upon the principle of electromagnetic induction.They includes the one or more inductor coils.then the pulsing current is applied to the coil.When the magnetic field moves across the coil,the eddy currents will be induced in the metal.The eddy currents induces the own field which is in the opposite direction of the applied magnetic field.It will be detected by the mtal detector.I hope that you will understand........
