probability = favourable outcomes/total outcomes
February month contain 28 days
so,P=28/5
=5.6

MalavDoshi: noo
MalavDoshi: dear it's a leap year

The month of February in a regular month has 28 days, making it impossible to have 5 Sundays.  28 days make up exactly 4 weeks and therefore only for 4 Sundays.

The month of February in a leap year has 29 days, making it possible that the 29th day is on a Sunday, therefore making it 5 Sundays.

Find the total number of possible days that 29th day can fall on:

Total number of possible outcomes = 7

(That is, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat or Sun)

Find the total number of favourable outcome:

Total number of favourable outcome = 1

(That is, Sunday)

Find the probability of having 5 Sundays:

P(5 Sundays) = 1/7

Answer: The probability is 1/7

MalavDoshi: but 1/7 would be probability of 5th Sunday but I am asking about 5 sumdays
TooFree: The first 28 days will ensure that there are definitely 4 Sundays. If the month has 5 Sundays depends on the 29th.

If 29th also fall on Sunday, we will have 5 Sundays.

=> That is why the probability of 5 Sundays is dependent on the 5th Sunday only.
