The data given in the question is a card is chosen at random in a deck of 52 cards.

we have to find the probability that the card chosen is either a jack or a 10.

The probability of getting a jack card is

p(j) =n(j) /n(s)

n(s) = total sample space.

n(j) = possibility of getting a jack card

p(j) =4/52.

then p(t) =probability of getting a number 10.

n(t) = possibility of getting a number 10.

n(s) = total sample space

p(t) = n(t) /n(s)

= 4/52.

p( getting a 10 or a jack ) = p(probability of getting a jack) +(probability of getting a ten).

 \frac{4}{52}  +  \frac{4}{52}  =  \frac{8}{52}

 =  \frac{2}{13}

Therefore the final answer is 2/13
