In a leap year there is 366 days. There are 7 ways the days can be. If the first sunday of the year is January 1st there will be 365 days remaining. There are 7 days a week. 365/7=52.142857…

So there will only be 52+1(Jan 1st)=53 Sundays. The other scenarios is:

Jan 1st is a monday: 52 sundays

Jan 1st is a tuesday: 52 sundays

Jan 1st is a wednesday: 52 sundays

Jan 1st is a thursday: 52 sundays

Jan 1st is a friday: 52 sundays

Jan 1st is a saturday: 53 sundays

So there is no way there can be 54 sundays in a year.

However there are a 2/7=28,571428…% chance to have 53 sundays in a leap year.
