With one die there are six possible results.
The only result greater than 5 is if you roll a six. The chance for a result greater than 5 is therefore 1 out of 6.
If you meant 2 dice, a similar analysis is that there are 36 possible results and the chances for a result greater than 5 is 26 out of 36.

Probability = No. of favorable outcomes/ Total no. of outcomes

Numbers greater than 5 in a dice are 1 i.e only 6

Total outcomes= 6

Probability = 1/6
