12/25 is probability that its label number is divisible by 3 or 4

Step-by-step explanation:

i) none of the 3 is included? Ii) 2 of the 3 are include

there are three

Probability of including 1  = 1/3 = p

q = not including = 2/3

none of 3 is included = 0 included

Probability 0 of 3 included =  ³C₀p⁰q³  = 1 (1/3)⁰ (2/3)³ = 8/27

1  of 3 included =  ³C₁p¹q²  = 12/27

2 of the 3 are included =  ³C₂p²q¹  = 3 * (1/3)² (2/3)  = 6/27

3 of the 3 are included =  ³C₃p³q⁰  = 1 * (1/3)³ (2/3)⁰  = 1/27

Divisible by 3  from 1 to 50

are 16 numbers

Divisible by 4 from 1 to 50

are 12 numbers

Divisible by 12 from 1 to 50

are 4 numbers

16 + 12 - 4  = 24 numbers divisible by 3 or 4

Probability = 24/50  =  12/25
