The problem of North East with respect to China is more related to borders than culture and their physical appearance.

The North East region is physically sharing the border with China. Moreover, North Eastern people resemble Chinese people.

So, China wants to take advantage of this and infiltrate in India. China is strategically trying to capture some regions of North East as we recently saw in Doklam.
