Step-by-step explanation:

Here in this equation, in reactant side- hydrogen has 2 molecules and oxygen also has 2 molecules and in product side- hydrogen has 2 molecules but oxygen has only 1 molecule....

In this case, the equation is unbalanced or skeletal equation....

To balance it we have to take 2 more molecules of hydrogen in reactant side and then in product side we have to take 2 molecules of both hydrogen and oxygen....

So the equation will be like-

2H2 + O2 2H2O

Here in product side the 2 is applicable for oxygen also and hydrogen also....

Now,

Here in this equation, in reactant side- hydrogen has 4 molecules and oxygen also has 2 molecules and in product side- hydrogen has 4 molecules but oxygen has 2 molecules...

The equation is balanced....

Hope it helps.....
