James Mill divided Indian history into three periods:Hindu, Muslims,and British.However there is some problem in this periodisation because during the Hindu or Muslim rule people of other faiths also exist.For example, when there was mughal rule in India many powerful hindu kings also ruled large part of indian territory. James Mill said that british should conquer all parts of india because they are the one who could civilize indian people as he wanted to say that indians were not capable to make india civilized without british coordination. hope you like the answer!!!!
