If sufficient evidences are available, the police must file a charge sheet. The accused can employ the services of a defence lawyer to defend him. On the opposition side, a public prosecutor, who is given full details of the case starts cross examining the accused. After hearing both sides, if the court feels that the accused is guilty, it reads out the statement of crime and proclaims the punishment to be conferred.
