Properties of a solution :-
1) solutions are homogeneous
2) they can neither be filtered from ordinary nor from ultra filter papers.
3) there particle size is too small and therefore they are not visible to naked eyes nor to microscope
4) they do not show tyndall effect (scattering of light )

The characteristics of Solution are as follows :

1. A solution is of homogeneous nature which means that it has the same composition throughout.

2. All the components or constituents in a solution are present in the same phase.

3. The size of the solute particles in a solution is very small nearly less than 1nm or 10^-9m.

4. Particles of a solution cannot be seen by naked eye or by ordinary microscope.

5. In a solution, the solute particles are so small that they can pass through the pores of even fine filter paper. This means that solute cannot be separated from the solvent by filtration.

6. Due to the very small size, the solute particles in a solution do not scatter a beam of light if made through it. this means that the path of the light is not visible in a solution.

7. A solution having maximum amount of solute dissolved at a particular temperature is known as saturted solution, if it is less than the maximum amount, the solution is unsaturated in nature.
