A colloid is a heterogeneous mixture whose particles are not as small as solution but they are so small that cannot be seen by naked eye. When a beam of light is passed through a colloid then the path of the light becomes visible.

A colloid or a colloidal solution is a heterogeneous mixture in which one substance is displaced as very fine particles having size in the range of 1 to 100 nm , in a continuous medium for another substances.

They are heterogeneous mixture .

They can pass through filter paper .

They show Tyndall effect.

Example - Fog , cloud , milk etc.
