Teflon is Polytetraflouroethylene. It contains two atoms - Carbon and Flourine. It is a plastic polymer which means that it contains a very long chain of atoms.
In Teflon, the cohesive forces between the molecules(intra) is high. However there is very little Vander Waals forces that is responsible for attraction with a foreign body(inter). Due to this food particles cannot stick to a Teflon coated utensil

Explanation:
Teflon is used in non - stick ware because,
1} It is non - sticky. So , neither water nor oil will stick to Teflon coated wares when they are used for cooking purposes
2} It is not affected by atmosphere and chemical substances
3} High temperature does not affect Teflon as its melting point is ( 327 degree Celsius)
4} Teflon coated wares are also easy to clean.
