Answer:

The role of ATP (Adenosine triphospate) is to provide the driving energy required for the completion of various life processes performed by the human cells.

Explanation:

When we breathe oxygen is taken in and then through lungs it reaches to our blood which is the transporter of substances in our bodies. The blood transports the oxygen to the cells and cells have "mitochondria" present in them. The mitochondria present in cells are semi-autonomous cells having their own DNA and ATP required for their functioning. So the oxygen and ATP molecules and water together form the chemical substance required by our body cells to perform various life processes.

Each ATP molecule has about 30.5KJ/mol of energy and our bodies have 38 or 36 ATP molecules per cell. ATP is the formed when ADP(Adenosine diphosphate) molecules combine with "inorganic phosphate" forming ATP i.e Adenosine triphosphate. One ATP molecule is more than enough to perform almost a lot of work.
